Although my work is not confined to any specific genre or subject matter, there are some common factors which make me want to create a particular image. Ideally, I would like my images to foster some recognition in the viewer that there is perhaps more than may appear at first sight. In other words, I am attempting to make images about things, rather than of things, and hope that perhaps this may encourage thought and reflection at a level beyond the immediate. I frequently work in monochrome, as I believe that this removes distractions and encourages a slightly different form of viewing.
