I am a local artist based in Droitwich Spa. After studying Fine Art and English Literature at Worcester University, I am excited to be making a living as an artist and illustrator. I am delighted to be a member and secretary of DAN and enjoy taking part in local town events.
My paintings of local views, such as “Wonky Droitwich” and “Salt Day”, have proven extremely popular with their ‘local characters’ and quirky style. I enjoy working in watercolour and fine line pen, exaggerating the scenes I see around me. I have recently begun extending my work across the Malvern and Worcester area and am now capturing these scenes in my ‘wonky’ style. You might notice that ‘the boy on the bike’ appears in all of my Droitwich paintings and the dog called ‘Elgar’ appears in my Malvern pictures. Take a look and see if you can find them!
The majority of my originals have sold. Limited-edition print runs out of 250 are now available. These are printed by the ‘giclée’ method on watercolour paper, signed, numbered, framed and provided with a ‘Certificate of Authenticity’. They are available in both the A2 and A3 size. I also love creating ‘Stylised Portraits’ of people and their homes, picking up on their hobbies and interests. I have been praised for being able to capture an individual’s personality perfectly and providing customers with a unique and special gift.
In 2018 I was honoured to receive the ‘Wychavon Community Recognition Award for the Arts’. I love my town and it’s great that I can support it through art, participating in local projects and using my creativity to enhance town events. In 2019, I realised my life-long dream of becoming a children’s book illustrator, illustrating ‘AB Gets His Wings’, written by Richard Bland in association with the RAF and the Dove Service, aiming to raise awareness of mental health. The book can be purchased online via Amazon, WHSmith and Waterstones or a signed copy can be ordered through me.
