30 Members submitted a wide variety of artwork (paintings, sketches, photographs, sculptures, textiles, written work, spoken word, and music). All the submissions were combined into a video that lasts about 20 minutes.
A good number of members had a preview of the video via Zoom on the 15th July. The video is now available for anyone to view. To view the video, click HERE.

Droitwich Arts Network sponsors High School Creative Writing Award
For the second year, Droitwich Arts Network has sponsored the High School Creative Writing Award, and this year’s winner is Grace Rogers in year 12. Martha Frapwell in year 11 finished runner-up. As winner, Grace will receive the Karen Moore Trophy and a cash prize of £100 kindly donated by Droitwich Arts Network. The accolade was named after Karen Moore who was the school’s deputy head for many years.
Karen Moore and DAN Chair Helen Karakashian shortlisted the two pieces of prose and then Ross Armstrong, former Droitwich Spa High School student who is now a successful author living in London, decided the first and second place. Mrs Moore said: “Creative writing has always been close to my heart and after I retired I really wanted to give something to the school that was for all of the students so that they show off their skills, creativity and imagination. This year’s competition had entries from a wide age range and they all demonstrated immense talent in their writing.”
This year, students were given the title ‘The world is on fire’ which they could interpret as they saw fit. Helen said: “Droitwich Arts Network is delighted to be supporting this creative writing competition. It is has been a joy to judge such high quality writing.’
Due to government restrictions the committee has decided hold meetings online using Zoom. A simple guide to using Zoom has been sent to all members and can be found in the Members’ Area of this website. If you are unsure about how to use Zoom, contact any member of the committee and we can arrange an online familiarisation session.
