From time to time Droitwich Arts Network takes an active role in projects.
Droitwich Spa Railway Station
In August 2021 Members of Droitwich Arts Network joined the Friends of Droitwich Spa Railway Station to consider including artwork. It is early days!
The ceramic mural “Buildings of Droitwich”
Thanks to funding from the National Lottery, Wychavon District Council, and Droitwich Town Council, Droitwich Arts Network restored Droitwich Spa’s national treasure. This colourful and intricate work of art had been removed from the St Andrew’s shopping centre wall in order to replace broken ceramic reliefs and to strengthen the panels. The ‘Black Dog’ Studio where the mural was originally made 43 years ago by artist Philippa Threlfall completed the repairs. The project was led by Alan Davey.
The unveiling ceremony took place on Wednesday 17th April 2019. It was unveiled by the Mayor of Droitwich, and DAN Chairman Helen Karakashian said a few words.
