Claire Hilton (Miss Hilton Ink) is an artist who grew up in Droitwich from the age of 9. Having always gone away to study, she gained a Degree in Fine Art from De Montfort University Leicester and went on to study Art Therapy at a MA Level at Derby University. Now embedded in community health care services as a freelance arts in health practitioner, Claire runs groups for adults and young people as well as teaching creative subjects. Her personal art practice is often changeable and runs alongside her current creative delivery. From more traditional mediums such as oils or watercolour to more contemporary modern collage and assemblage work, the underlying theme of practice is the importance of play and experimentation. Her work is often found at The Kestrel Gallery and Studio in Sidbury, and at Heroes monthly ‘Alternative Artists Market’.
Claire also runs a creative art night in Worcester once a month called ‘Drink and Doodle’ which takes place 2nd Tuesday at The Paul Pry. The laid back event encourages people to get creative with art materials (provided) socialise and meet with others. There is no right or wrong or specific task to complete – it is freedom of expression for each individual and most of all a bit of fun! More info here at www.CreatingSpaceSessions.com/events
