Ruth Bourne

Ruth took up photography in earnest just a few years ago, and jump-started her learning with a “365” Photo-a-Day project. This experience encouraged her to take the Open University’s excellent introductory online photography course (T189) which further encouraged the addiction, as did joining the Worcestershire Camera Club, though a few years as secretary and a couple as Vice -Chair and Chair meant a bit less time for the photography! Ruth is still an active member of the club and writes & publishes their well-received weekly e-newsletter.

Ruth gained LRPS in 2013 with a panel of projected images. Since then she has undertaken more print work and exhibits locally and beyond, individually, through the WCC and as part of the f.action Group. She takes photographs for the local wildlife trust, though more usually of events and reserves than wildlife, lacking the necessary patience for that!

Her photographic interests are wide-ranging and she enjoys experimentation; she finds pleasure in the purely pictorial but also enjoys more contemporary photography, where the image is about, rather than of something. See more of that work on the f.action site.
